This building is just spectacular. Refurbished Opera House that really sets a special mood for any event held there.
The stage is large so a small band can position forward and appear to be almost in the audience. Sound quality is a 9 on a 10 scale.
Concessions could include better selection but service fast to grab a beer or wine.

Great for date night!

Bought tickets for my parents as a gift & drug my significant other with me to see Tim Allen. We didn't really enjoy all of Tim's humor, but it was an ok night.
Appreciated the amount of room in the seats, as well as how much seating there was. We were in the way back, we would have appreciated TV monitors as it was difficult to make out facial features of the comedian on stage.
The venue is pretty nice tho. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

My suggestions for newbies below:
My God, I would give almost anything to work in this gorgeous place!! We were in St. Louis for the weekend and by pure chance, my husband noticed that Lewis Black was playing there last night. We decided that we would drive by and see if we could get tickets. You could never do that in back home in SoCal, but this is Missouri, so we gave it a shot. I dropped my husband at the front of the buliding about noonish on 4.15.17 and he walked in and bought two tickets, just like that!

I told him I wanted good seats and aisle seats if possible ,the the ticket lady told him that in this venue, all the seats were good ones and for the most part, I would have to agree.

The acoustics are marvelous and there are ticket takers/ushers to help you every step of the way. We were wanded with a metal detector when we first came in and my purse was searched.
There were plenty of mini bars set up and a couple of concession stands with the usual expensive movie/theater food.

The bathrooms are only on the main floor so if you are on the second or third floor, you will need to come down to use the restrooms but there are elevators...and there are bathrooms in the main bar, lots and lots of them, so don't get stuck on the main floor restrooms by the stairs.

There is a parking garage next door but there is also plenty of metered parking all around the front of the building. We arrived about 645 pm, parked caddy corner to the Opera House and didn't go in until about 730.

When we came out I noticed a couple of security officers, maybe Sheriffs, standing around the park where many of the folks parked their cars.
Although this is a very old buliding, the seats are generously sized and comfy, even for a grandma with a big butt like mine! There isn't much room to stretch your legs in front, but you can put them under the chair in front of you a bit.

All in all, it was a marvelous evening and we can hardly wait to go back...thank you #PeabodyOperaHouse, the night was awesome!

The building is old... So it looks and feels old when you walk up to it. It feels a little cold with all the gray marble and black iron inside. The inside seating area is very nice. Not as nice as Fox. Seating is impossible in the upper deck. Feel a thousand miles away and you can't sit with the lack of leg room. You just have to appreciate the place was built 100 years ago and was fabulously restored. Don't waste your money unless you sit in lower level.

We saw Hall and Oats at the Peabody Opera House recently. The Peabody is really beautiful. There is parking down the street. This was our first time seeing a concert at the Peabody. I would recommend buying tickets that are down low and not mezzanine b/c the seats are very very high. I had always heard people say that the Peabody was small but it is not. And for concerts there are no jumbo trons to see the faces of performers if you sit far away. There were some sound issues for the first couple songs, but then they sounded good.

The concert hall has been beautifully restored. Unfortunately they apparently couldn't do anything to improve the size of the seats in most areas. My husband and I are both on the thin side so it wasn't a weight issue. I'm only 5'2" and I couldn't cross my legs! The majority of seats in the mezzanine actually provide less room than in the coach portion of an airplane. If you're attending a concert here I highly recommend paying more for the seating in unattached chairs. I saw some on the main floor in front of the stage and some in what must be considered box seats in the mezzanine. ASK before you purchase or suffer the consequences! Fortunately the concert was great or my husband would still be glaring at me!

This Opera house is a great sight to see and a experience to witness. Reading all the reviews there judgment were correct. Just a few more to add.... built in the mid 1930s the people where smaller then. 50% of the population is larger now and the seats where quite small. If you are a thin person the padding on the seats are not enough. In other words the seats are uncomfortable.....
Next, It us true every seat has a view, but when enjoying Shen Yun the mezzanine seating was so far above, that this choreographic dance production would have been much better in the orchestra seating. Just because of the nature of the performance. So take heed on the next dance production of this type.
This was still a very enjoyable date night out. Love the Peabody Opera house in all it's Glory.

Todd Rundgren's Utopia concert May 9, 2018. Parked at the very close Kiel Center for $10. This venue is relatively small, which is great for an up close experience. I had great seats in the Orchestra, right-center, row L. The seats were plenty roomy and had nice sight-lines through the rows in front of me. THE VOCALS MIX WAS TERRIBLE. It was WAAAAAY too loud and extremely distorted. I've been going to concerts since 1975 so it's hard to get too loud for me, but the vocals were an indecipherable glom of noise. Thank goodness the instruments were discernible because Todd is an extremely gifted guitarist. There were two sets and after intermission the vocals were significantly better, but still unnecessarily too loud for such a small space. I live in Memphis, TN and we drive up to St. Louis because they get much better shows than Memphis. This was the second show I've seen at POH and when we saw Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick the sound was much better than the Utopia show.

The staff at the Peabody were very friendly and helpful. We went to the Kiel Club for nachos and a drink before the show and were not disappointed. The show was very entertaining and definitely R-rated. My only complaint was that the seating had very little leg room. The theater is beautiful.
