Beautiful, short hike w/loads of views & climbing

This is one of my favorite hikes. It's short, about 2 miles. But every inch is lovely, especially the views at the end.

On a busy fall weekend, the parking is very tight. Come early. There are no restroom facilities, no water fountains, and one picnic table, so plan accordingly. Wear strong boots...you have a strenuous hike in many places. Beware of MUCH poison ivy, too. All cautions considered, the hike is SPECTACULAR! Stones, giant trees, forests of Paw-paw trees/bushes, waterfalls, bluffs, giant... More

This is a beautiful walk in the Ozarks woods. It is not an easy walk, in that there are numerous hill climbs in/out of the creek/springs valleys. Moreover, while there are bridges and walkways built over the worst areas, most of it is just a trail in the woods, often with uneven footing. I thought it was fine, even doing... More

We've hiked many trails in Southeast Missouri; this is one of our favorites. Don't believe the sign that says the hiking time is one hour, though. If you spend any time playing, exploring, or sitting and enjoying the views you'll probably take more like two hours. Lots of features to see on this two-mile hike. It's sort of a combination... We arrived early, good thing, not knowing what to expect. Myself, 63, a 10 year old and a 4 year old. The 4 year old way too young, carried him most of the way. Lucky that we had back pak with snak and water, do take with you. It is beautiful but I do suggest traveling with more Adults if... More

This park is fantastic! I love, love, love the rock formations. The trail is not terribly long and there are a few challenging areas so it's a nice hike. This is no park to just look at the rocks. The trail has you climbing over and under them. It's wonderful and I feel like a kid when I go. There's... More

This is a great short hike for just about anybody. You get to see a little but of everything that nature has to offer. Truly beautiful and worth the short drive outside of town

This is a short, moderately difficult hike (some rocky areas and big steps). We saw a lot of families there and kids ranging from 5-10 doing it without too much trouble. There are great rock formations, a waterfall with a little pool to wade in, caves, and some wildlife. It took about 1.5 hours with some stops to eat and... More

Very nice natural area. It is one of my daughters' favorite hikes. Not a long hike but many types of scenery. There is a fern glen, natural arches, small creek and a waterfall (in wet weather). I have done the hike many times and highly recommend it.
