Wet a line at one of the Midwest’s premier trout-fishing destinations at Montauk State Park. Located an easy ride from St. Louis, the park’s waters are stocked each night from an on-site hatchery. Want more than day of fishing? Stay overnight at the park’s motel, campground or cabins. Want to do something other than fish? Montauk State Park’s hiking trails will take you in and around the scenic Pigeon Creek basin.

Campsites are spacious and level. The park is clean and well maintained. Restrooms and bath house were great. We biked all thru the park and enjoyed it a lot. However there were no bike racks. Hiking was also great T.

A beautiful state park with a full service lodge that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and ice cream). The hatchery is always a favorite spot for the kids to feed the fish. It's set in a valley and is beautiful all year long.

We love this place. Been coming here for years. Nice bath houses with plenty of showers. Very clean. They have a place to wash your clothes if you need to. The lodge always had a dinner special if you don't want to cook. Great place.

With the rain we've gotten the past few weeks, and it is raining and thundering like crazy today, I'd expect the water level to be up. We're about 10 miles from the park and go there often, but I've not been there in the... More
