It is sad to see yet another once vibrant downtown gone. Lack of city leadership allowed all the good businesses to move to the highways on the edge of town.

If you like browsing antiques this will be your thing. ALL the shop keepers were so friendly. They even had suggestions on other places to stop by or drive to.

Lots of places closed and many things have changed, it kind of like the show where they show places before and after. It's reconstruction at its best but you can see the old in with the new.

Looks like a cute place to visit but after following the incorrect trip advisor map. Getting lost and finally finding downtown only to find everything closed at 10:00 on Sunday. Usually tourist attractions are open on weekends so was surprised nothing was.

Very nice and clean downtown with a RR depot and other 1900'S buildings. Be sure to pick up a home tour tour map and see the circa 1900 homes within walking distance. the Map will show their locations .

One thing I have noticed as we are travelling in this area is that every small town seems to have a "historic downtown." I am never sure what to expect, but when we have time we stop just to see what's being offered. Sikeston has...More
