Dickerson Park Zoo is where people and animals connect. Enjoy getting outside and enjoying the natural beauty of the area while seeing and learning about animals from Africa, Tropical Asia, South America, Australia and North America. See the reptiles at the Ambler Diversity of Life center, ride the Titus Express miniature train, get up close and personal with the giraffes on the giraffe deck (giraffe feeding an additional fee but observation deck is free) and visit the petting zoo. Cafe and gift shop also available.

Good fun for the family

Always fun for the kids. Good zoo for the Midwest small market city. This zoo is fun and their staff are well trained. Keep up the good work and public outreach.

Dickerson Park Zoo has some great elements. They have really made some nice improvements over the past 10 years or so. Still, it is fairly small and not a lot of unique or unusual animals or exhibits.

Generally clean and well-organized zoo with a nice assortment of caged animals to see. Walkways and paths are well maintained and easy to maneuver.

For being a smaller sized zoo, Dickerson is very up-to-date with attractions. A new board walk was under construction during our visit. Plenty of things to look at while on a date. Good for striking up conversation. Better because they are no crowds.

Great little place to get a walk in and see the animals. They had some I've never seen in real life! Great place and good price.

Thank you, Willie. Glad you got to connect with some animals you'd never seen before, which is one of the zoo's missions: encouraging people to engage with and learn about animals. More

Dickerson zoo was a lot of fun to kick around, it is bigger than it initially looks. My favorite part and the reason I keep returning is because they allow you to feed the giraffes for an additional fee and it is the best thing in the world to get to interact with the animals.

It's a smaller zoo, but a nice way to spend an afternoon with the family. Two elephants, 5-6 giraffes to feed, two hippos, 2 bears, 2 mountain lions, 2 bobcats, 2 lions, tigers, monkeys, cheetahs, several deer and turkey, my daughter loves the peacocks that roam freely all over, 4-5 giant tortoise, the reptile house, several zebras, ostriches, some parrots... Spend the day here and see all of the animals in their habitat. Truly interesting and educational. The staff of the zoo are always helpful, polite and informative!! The layout of the park is easily accessible and makes for a fun filled and entertaining day. On a side note, the staff, including their vet doctors are committed to the community.... More

Thank you so much for your kind words! You captured the mission of the zoo, to protect all animals in our care and in the wild. The zoo's raptor rehab program is extremely important to us. Thank you for your concern and bringing the injured owl. More

for a small zoo, it is a wonderful place to take the kids for a day of fun and exploration of animals. Took our grand kids for years to the zoo spooktactular. We all loved it and was sad when they discontinued it. Still, take your family there for a fun day with the animals.

So glad to hear you and your family enjoy visiting the zoo. Please watch our website for new events. Spooktacular was quite popular, but unfortunately over time with so many free Halloween events offered, the attendance to Spooktacular had dwindled. Hope you continue to visit and check out some of our new events. Plus, we are always looking for new... More
