Go once... and you will not be able to wait to go back again. Staff are great and the birds are well attended... plus their mission to save and release injured birds... just a great place. Plus you can visit Lone Elk Park afterwards... so it's a 2-fer!

This was a return for my wife and a first for me. She says it has expanded since she was last here several years ago. They obviously do not have the resources of some facilities but boy do they make the most of what they have so give a generous donation it will be well used. If you can catch... More

My teen daughters and I visited this sanctuary on a Saturday morning during our trip to the St. Louis area. (It is right across I-44 from Drury Inn & Suites-Southwest) Jarod was the staff person who was feeding the birds and gave a mini tour. He did a great job at answering everyone's questions and it was obvious he loves... More

We are so glad we took our 5 year old granddaughter to see the birds. Wasn't sure what to expect, but found the place to be informative with many different birds to see. She thoroughly enjoyed the visit and often speaks of the birds we saw. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different birds there. It was... More

Went here while visiting family. It was a nice place. They have a good variety and a lot of raptors, especially eagles. Kids really liked seeing all the birds. Recommend going on the weekend for more interactive stuff.

Beautiful place to learn about birds of all kinds. See bald eagles, haws, and other birds of prey. Many birds are recovering from injuries as this is a hospital and sactuary. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers.

We only stayed a few minutes and got sick to our stomachs. We walked down a trail that had the bald eagles and what we saw horrified us. A majestic bald eagle tethered by one foot to a post. The tether was so short he could not jump off onto the ground. In fact a hawk nearby jumped off and... More

Definitely a must see in valley park...you can do lone elk and this in an afternoon. The bird sanctuary is so secluded it's perfect for photography. Definitely check it out I try to visit at least once a month.

You can spend hours looking at all the birds they have on display and learn about all of them. Most of them are there because they were injured at one time or still injured. There are all kinds of birds there. They have a bird hospital on site and you can see inside of it. They have a gift shop... More
