This is a great place to take kids for an outing.People there are fantastic and good with kids. They can fish for free, they provide pole, bait and tackle. Then inside there are several things the kids can do and they have a fish aquarium with all the fish in missouri lakes

Small place, but good fun. They let little tikes fish in a pond. My grandson had a great time. Nice aquarium.

The people who worked at the hatchery were very short with us (but not quite rude). We arrived about 30 minutes before closing time...they wouldn't let the kids fish, we barely got any information. If I was going to be in the area again, I would probably go back because it's free, but earlier in the day. Also, the aquarium... More

This place has something for everyone. For the adults, inside there are informative displays and a large aquarium with live fish. For the kids, the staff provides them FREE fishing poles and bait to fish in the large pool out front. It is stocked with Catfish and Hybrid Bass and the kids are allowed to keep two. If you want... Kids get to fish, everything furnished, and it's free. The kids caught 2 or 3 each, one of which was a good sized catfish. Would recommend this place for everyone. Very friendly and helpful employees.

Been going to this facility for years and it never gets old. Something different for the kids to enjoy a couple time a year.

This is an interesting place to visit. There is a lot to learn about Missouri fish and a wonderful aquarium. This is a working hatchery and will let you see how it is done. There is one pond that kids can fish for free. The hatchery provides everything: rod and reel and bait. A great visit, especially for kids.

You gotta love the Missouri Department of Conservation - free exhibit with a fantastic aquarium, interesting information about wildlife in Missouri, and free fishing pond for the kids. Mine are 5 and 8 - we spent about 1 1/2 hours there. They loved it - made a really nice stop on our roadtrip. GREAT attraction - lucky to have it.

The hatchery has a huge aquarium with all the local fish. Has great learning exhibitions. The best part though is after your child reads the rules of proper fishing. They get a pole, bait and stringer and get to go fish in the well stocked pond. They can keep the largest fish they catch. There are catfish I've seen over... More

The hatchery is perfect for a stop on a family getaway. It is educational and great for young kids as they can fish in the hatchery, who provide the necessary equipment for the kids. The aquarium area was amazing. The staff were great and knowledgeable.
