This place is pretty quick to visit. They have parking. Entry was 10TL. The main site is in pretty poor condition. Lots of overgrown areas so not really good trails so you can know where to walk. To get up to the theater, you have to drive up a train. The main part of the road is paved, but then you have to turn and go up a narrow dirt road to see each of the theaters. I visited just after it rained so some parts were muddy. There was one part where I started to get stuck in the mud but luckily I was OK. Overall, a nice place to visit after seeing the main attractions.

This is a lovely archeological site. I think we were the only visitors that day. The site is still being excavated so not all bits are viewable. You will need to drive here, but it is well worth the visit. Be sure to see the theatre which is a Short car ride to get to. Wow! Loved the free book that explains so much about the site.
There was no cafe here or nearby, so take water with you. Also because it is a working site it does get very dusty.

OK, so Magnesia Stadium is REALLY well preserved and NO ONE is there. However, first, it's really hard to get to -- come in from the north road where at least it's paved (we came from the south side and it the last 1/4 was dust/stones). Second, there is now a gate. We could not find any ticket counter anywhere. I won't disclose how we got in, but let's just say we had the entire stadium to ourselves AMAZING - until an employee came down angrily and threatening us; very gratefully, he let us buy a ticket from him direclty (3 EU).

It is one of the ancient cities worth seeing in the Aegean Region. Although there is a lot of space to be excavated, it is still astonishing in its current state. You should spare more than 1 hour. You need to drive to the stadium structure. After a short walk, you reach a very well-preserved structure. The theater building, excavations of which have not yet begun, is also on this road.

Shame on me for not reading the Tripadvisor reviews in advance, but the stadium at Magnesia ended up being one of the highlights of our trip precisely because we didn't expect it.

You access it up a side road just a few metres south of the car park of the main site - it's signposted but the sign is small. Drive past the pedestrian path to the theatron (400m and worth the stroll), past the theatre (not excavated so nothing to see) and park up next to the huge baths complex (fenced off - wish we could explore it as it looks fascinating!). Then stroll a couple hundred metres up the slope and - wow!

The stadium is very intact and absolutely awe inspiring. Make sure you see the reliefs carved along the face (in protective cages), and if the ground is not too muddy, run some mock races while imagining being cheered on by a crowd of 30,000.

The rest of Magnesia is also excellent - and free to enter - we spent an hour exploring the grounds. It's worth continuing on past the main temple to explore some of the other archeological excavations, which appear to be active (though not when we visited in Feb 2020). There are toilets at the entrance.

We had the whole place to ourselves in our visit.

Loved it, scenic, quiet and there is a lovely walk to the stadium though the fig orchards. The site is not intensely managed so you need to explore a bit but that adds to the pleasure. Intendant on the site helped us with direction and unbelievably it was all free of charge.

far from the crowds of Ephesus and less known than the beautiful Milet, Didym and Prienus, Magnesia on the meander is not yet much visited and archaeological excavations are still in progress. But you shoud definitely make a stop here not just to have a look at the ruins of the impressive Artemis temple ruins along the road but also - and mostly - to see the fabulous stadium in the hills which stand about 1 km from the road. It is massive, very well preserved and an absolute gem to discover. The highlight of our day

I will never forget this visit. Simply stunning. The fact that this important archaeological sight is largely untouched, simply adds to its charm.

Visited the ancient city of Magnesia with my wife. We were the only visitors for half a day. The site featured some incredible sites, the most memorable of which is a recently excavated stadium. You have to have a map and look for the stadium to find it. This is definitely worth a visit. May some day be equal to Ephesus if it is ever fully excavated.
