There is a good bit of history on these grave markers. Many of the people up here came to make a life and ended it at the point of a gun. No one was 'old'. One note -- wear very solid footwear (no flip-flops) - there is plenty of very wicked cactus that grows low to the ground or is... More

Having lived in Billings my whole life, it is interesting to hear reviews regarding not being able to find the Boot Hill Cemetery. It is located off Main street in the heights right behind Boot Hill Hotel, it is not difficult to find, if everyone follows the signs. In regard to it being small, it is again the oldest cemetery.... We went up there to check it out and saw Kelly's memorial and took a walk past the end of the road, look for the cemetery but still couldn't find it. Good views of the city.

We visited Boot Hill Cemetery in July 2016. It is a very small, simple exhibit which took about 5 minutes to see. The hill overlooks an unattractive industrial area, so we were a bit disappointed.

This is difficult to find but for those interested in history, it's worth looking for. There is an explanation of Boot Hill and some of the graves are marked. There is an obelisk marking the cemetery

There are two historical points of interest in this cemetery but it's no Tombstone in terms of visitor appeal. There's also a lot of long grass. (The lawn mower was invented in 1830 - Billings City needs to buy one.) If you're staying nearby, allow five minutes to look around. but don't go out of your way.

On the outskirts of the main town, on a hill and interesting. Several stone markers, but mostly metal crosses. A little history of the cemetary is given at the entrance.
