These falls are so high rated because of how short the hike is to get there. Having that said, weekends at this area are relatively overpopulated which makes the hike "less natural." I like to hike or take strolls in the wilderness, this did not...More

This spectacular waterfall is only 0.7 miles from the parking lot. The trail is paved, but I would still advise hiking shoes. The only other things you'll need are a camera and a water bottle. It's uphill going in, downhill coming out.

Easy access & an enjoyable & suitable short hike for most. Worth the drive up the stunningly beautiful Hyalite canyon.

This is a well traveled paved trail up to a very scenic waterfall. Short, but good enough to make the kids think they worked hard for it! The grade is reasonable throughout till you reach the waterfall viewing area. The fall itself tumbles lightly over...More

This canyon walk is worth the shady, not-too-steep climb, and offers views of the valley as well as close-up access to the waterfall. There are picnic tables.

This is a great place to visit, but the hike is strenuous and long. There are no "clean" bathrooms within many miles, so be prepared. It was rainy and cold while we were there, but the trees on the hike up blocked most of the...More

I took a drive to Hyalite Canyon and Resevoir in Bozeman. It was a nice drive there. GPS messed up directions but keep driving on Hyalite Canyon Road and you will find an area that will provide a map view of the area. There are...More

From Bozeman, this is at least a 30 minute drive up Hyalite Canyon - quite driveable - yet you should be aware. You need to pass the reservoir (which is as far as most people go) and a few minutes on a dirt trail, but...More

We went one last time before we moved from Bozeman, Montana. We went a few times a year and always took family and friends who visited to the area.

No, you cannot fish at the actual falls. As earlier post states, there is a large lake you cross over on way to falls that would be perfect for fishing. Go visit falls and then stop to fish on way back. Big parking lot to... More
