The springtime is great trout fishing and the winter ice fishing trips are really fun. The trout are very nice size and the ling fishing can be great if you know where to go on the ice. I have a nice Rainbow trout mounted on my house wall. A very pretty fish looks like a steelhead.

We stayed the weekend after Labour Day and the RV park was nice and quiet. There were only 6 other RV sites in use and maybe 40-50 open sites. Each site had sewer, water, and 30 amp electrical hookup. There were pit toilets that were very clean but no showers. All RV sites are easy to access and we had... More

The Clark Canyon Dam is an earthen dam that created a reservoir from inflow by Horse Prairie Creek and Red Rock Creeks. The dam is located such that one drives over it on the 45th parallel on Hwy 324. Attractions include a nice interpretive site just a few miles to the west . Camp Fortunate site is currently underwater. Camp... More

There's plenty of access to the reservior, and fishing the Beaverhead River downstream of the dam is fairly easy....decent access for several miles. It can get pretty windy up on the reservoir but it is a fine spot to recreate. Nice camping spots, bathroom facilities are basic. Picnic tables and some shade/shelters are in the developed areas.

There is a public access dirt road that accesses the DN34/35 line, down near the water. We took a short motorhome in there slowly without problem. No hassles from anyone. this is before you get to the real marina entrance. We also later used a wide spot on the road around the lake, that crosses over the dam...beyond that boat... More

Beautiful area, with camping, fishing, and water sports. Historically significant as this is where Lewis and Clark left their water route to start their cross country journey on horses bought from a local Native American tribe.

Fun place to fish as long as you are patient, but the fish are big. Had a great day here today, going back tomorrow. There is great access, boat ramps, campgrounds, and fishing spots. Free and fun.

Windy and fishing was slow. The lake has a lot of public access but not much to offer. Across the highway and up on the hill is The Buffalo Lodge. Excellent food for the whole family. Also not much for boat ramps.
