The interpretive center holds a good deal of historical information, yet I found myself walking through fairly quickly and having to wait over an hour for the others I was with to get through. I found it hard to read information without an employee coming up behind me and reciting it for me. If you are joining others in this... More

Aloha everyone, With a lot of time off stored up, I decided to take road trip across part of the Nothwest. I started at Great Falls, Montana where I spent a few days researching family history. Although not part of that effort, I found some time to visit the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center just off of River Drive. This... More

Situated high above the banks of the Missouri river, this is a great place for the entire family to learn more about the Lewis and Clark expedition. The center covers the entire trip - not just the portage around the 5 cascades in Great Falls. There are several movies to watch and the dioramas are excellent. Expect to spend about... More

Love how they had exhibits that attracted children and encouraged hands on experience. My son loved the activity book that engaged him in learning about Lewis and Clark. I recommend this place to anyone.

This was very well done and I now know all I need to about Lewis and Clark. Very complete but I ran out of steam toward the end.

This is a large extremely well done Lewis and Clark interpretive center in a beautiful location on the Missouri River very near the Giant Springs State Park. The display of the boat between the two floors gives a very realistic picture of what the Corps of Discovery accomplished moving their boats around the great falls of Montana. The displays at... I must admit we didn't spend enough time in this remarkable museum dedicated to the Lewis and Clark expedition. The detail and visuals were extraordinary. The story was well told in a very nicely laid out facility. Nestled along the shores of the Missouri at the point of the Great Falls, one can just imagine the expedition as it moved... More

While the view may have changed from Lewis and Clark's day, the interpretive center does an incredible job of taking you back in time to what the journey was like. Fans of the Ken Burns documentary should all visit the Great Falls museum, which gives a much deeper understanding of what an undertaking "the portage" really was. But, the amazing... More

This center is easy to find, and a wonderful historic perspective of the expedition. The grounds and the trail are well worth investigating as well to have some appreciation of the lay of the land that the expedition navigated .
