We were only at the Capital for a brief amount of time but it was beautiful inside! We went to share the celebration of the "Governor's Arts Award" ceremony! What a lovely celebration! We sat in the balcony on the third floor and had a perfect view of the room! The seats were not made for people over 5 and... More

There is a self guided tour of the building. Many state offices are housed in the building. The Secretary of State, in charge of Business listings, and voting as well as many governor offices, even a post office near the south entry. The rotunda has restored art, and both houses has public areas to either watch (spring of odd years)... More

A must stop if you're visiting. Great for family to explore how our local government runs. Art details are amazing.

Definitely worth the stop. Beautifully preserved building. Recommend you take the tour, which was very interesting.

There are some very fine bronze statues, for example, of Jeanette Rankin and the Mansfields, that are worth seeing. There is a huge Russell painting that is important in the context of his output.

Our guide who also doubles as receptionist (volunteer) took us around the building explaining the structure and the artwork was very knowledgeable and friendly.

An obscure location for a capitol building. Handout provided for self guided tour (near security at information booth). Nice look into the chambers through glass. Beautiful art work throughout.

My husband is a history buff and can't pass up the chance to check out another state capitol building. This one is very worth the stop. The grounds are nice, the exterior is very cool, but the inside is fabulous. Take a look at the beautiful ceilings, stairway, and glass windows inside.

We're going around looking at state capitals, and this one measures up to its peers pretty well. The gardens are particularly nice. You can get a good pic if you're so inclined by stopping across the street.

Beautiful building and landscaping. Would recommend anyone to see it especially during the fall of the year. Love this building and churches around it.
