We stayed at Pete Creek campground in site #7 and it was great. There was a little trail to the creek and you could walk down to the "walk in" sites and there was a trail to the river. There was a great, calm little swim hole there. Clean vault toilets and portable water, fire rings w/grill, picnic tables &... More

My wife and I visited here on 7/22/16 and found this couple from Texas enjoying the sounds as the clear river cascaded over the rocks.

Beautiful river. We were in town for a wedding and loved walking to the river just to watch it and the wild life all around it.

We have spent three days here near Troy and it has been raining everyday but that is fine because we are staying in a cabin right on Bull Lake. We took the Yaak Hwy and even in the rain it was beautiful day. Packed a picnic lunch, ate in the car and then we drove to the town of Libby... More

The Yaak River Road is also known as the Yaak Highway, or Montana Highway 508. We took a drive on a beautiful sunny day. The road is two lane paved State Highway and follows the Yaak River. Beautiful mountain views and there's a great chance of seeing some wildlife hanging around the Yaak River. The Yaak can freeze over in... More

Great road of a very isolated area of Montana. Chance of seeing grizzlies, caribou and the regular deer, black beers and elk. Stop at the Dirty Shame Saloon in Yaak for sure.

The Yaak River is another reason to love NW Montana. Everything Yaak, is great... the river, the falls, the surrounding scenery, lots of wildlife, no cell phone service. The bars... Yaak River Tavern & Mercantile, The Dirty Shame are both "real". The Yaak River Road ( Hwy 508) is an excellent motorcycle road... if the upper portion of the Pipe... More

It is worth going out of your way to see the Yaak River and the town of Yaak. A trip to the Kootenai Falls on the Kootenai River is never complete unless you drive on through Troy, Montana and go up the Yaak River to Yaak. It is the most isolated spot in Northwestern Montana but stunning in it's pristine... More

The Yaak is an excellent spot for fly fishing - remote yet not that far off the beaten path. There is a great campground and tons of places to pull off the road and explore.

It was just perfect timing the weather was good, while a bit foggy and cool for locals, being from TX it was a great break, love the mountains, rivers and lakes - loads of places for fishing, caught nothing but loved it. Great visit with friends and just getting away. Everyone was friendly and just comfortable.
