I recommend people visit this place prior going in to the park. I asked a lot of questions about the area and good places to take photos. I wouldn't spend more than an hour here. It was an interesting look.

While in size and scope it doesn't compare to the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum--here in West Yellowstone it stands out as the one attraction that isn't a gift shop or restaurant. We spent some portion of a Thursday night (hours are from 11AM -7PM during...More

Had a great time touring this museum. Truly gives you a reminder of what rail travel used to be like. If you get tired of the crowds in YNP take a break and mosey around this museum.

$6 per person for entry and you can come and go over 2 days. The best parts were the 2 videos, one giving a fly-over tour of the park with lots of views and information. The other was about the earthquake in 1959. Some interesting...More

It's an old train building from when the train ran down from Bozeman. (Wish it still did, would be fun). There is a lot of history to be learned in the building. Definitely worth a stop.

We had some time one evening before dinner, so we wandered into this place to look around. (The vintage, Yellowstone Transportation Bus caught our eye.) What a treasure! Very interesting exhibits (a HUGE stuffed grizzly bear) and well worth the nominal admission price. Nice little...More

This is a museum celebrating the history of West Yellowstone and how it came to be. Very interesting plaque boards with era breakdowns and actual artifacts regarding travel to West Yellowstone via horse, horse drawn carriage, train and bus/car.

This museum is well laid out and informative. Yellowstone Park early history and artifacts are explained well. Museum is roomy and easy to find. The building itself is part of early Yellowstone history. All in all a visit here is like stepping back in time.
