We went to quake lake and the visitor center nearby. I had never heard of the earthquake in 1959 so I was fascinated. The visitor center wasn't open but there were a lot of signs to explain what happened and just looking at the side...More

Very interesting place to see, some spots the trees make the lake look haunted. Pretty cool and worth the drive to see it

Definitely worth a stop if you're on the road to Ennis. They have a good movie on the history of the disaster and how the lake was formed. There is a nice gift shop and museum.

The night before we visited Earthquake Lake, we experienced a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in the middle of the night. That was disturbing, but it really hit home when we viewed the lake. Tree trunks silhouetted. I found the display to be informative and the lake...More
