Visited here under the impression that it was a geothermal hot spring that could be entered by people, it is not. It was the hot spring where Snorri Sturluson, an Icelandic, historian, poet and politician used to bath.

This is one of very few personal geothermal pools in the country and has lasted since the 1100's which is amazing. It's a very quick stop to visit the pool. There is a sign with more description next to the pool. The water was warm but not hot like some of the spas. You are not supposed to get in.

Learn some history here about the Icelandic sagas and one of the most famous of the writers, Snorri. He is also a poet! See Snorri's pool and his escape route where he could flee his enemies. Snorri wrote the Edda which is all about the Gods of Norse mythology made popular by Marvel: Loki, Thor and Odin! He lived here in the 11th century and is locally revered.

Snorri's pool has been here since the 10th century. There is a sign that explains the significance of this pool and Snorri's history. Some fun photo opportunities and a nice area to explore on a summer day. Admittedly, reached in the pool and the water was surprisingly warm. Warmer than expected. If you are passing through Reykholt, take the time to visit this sight, you won't regret it.

Snorralaug is thought to have been used by locals since the 12th century, making it possibly the oldest human-used hot spring in the country. The temperature of the hot spring is said to fluctuate drastically, often becoming far too hot to bath in. Unfortunately they forget to mention that there is a huge hotel 1 meter behind the hot spring, so the idyllic atmosphere is totally ruined. Nice to see if you drive by anyway.

Home of Snorri Sturlusson, Iceland's neatest epic poet (edda, others). Also a prominent historian and politician. Archaeological sites, his thermal bathing pool and sauna, a 19th century Lutheran church, and active greenhouses all found on site.

This is not the most interesting thing you will see in Iceland, but we enjoyed our brief time here. This is Snorri's pool, one of only about six personal geothermal bathing pools preserved and remaining from the 10th century.

Interesting history lesson about oldest known human used hot path (from 12th century) in Iceland. This site is quick stop and you cannot path in here. If you are driving near by, you should stop and take a look, otherwise you can ignore this one!

Worth a look but not one you can swim in which is a shame. Easy parking nearby in the car park. Noone else there when we visited
