I visited during my stay in Kearney to view the sandhill cranes. I am actually glad I had time to stop in. It is an attraction that tells the stories of the trails to the west that came through Nebraska. I recognized some content from the old computer game Oregon Trail and was able to fill in the gaps at... More

I took two grandchildren there (11 and 7 years) and they both rated it a 10, but I would give it 4 of 5 stars. They found it fun as well as educational. To take a self-paced tour you are given a head set and control that is used to activate recorded messages that explain the part of the exhibit... More

We enjoyed this museum that takes you on a journey west through American history. The museum is well laid out, easy to navigate and highly educational. Well worth a stop for an hour or so. From travel by covered wagon to the gold rush to the pony express to the railroad ties that spanned the nation - it is all... More

A great place for school age children and adults. Brings history to life with scenes and sounds. Plenty of benches to rest your feet.

This monument is intriguing from the outside and educational on the inside. When in Kearney do take time to make a stop at this site.

It's a surprisingly good walk through history. We mostly went in because AAA said it was a gem. It might be considered a little pricey for $12 because it only takes an hour to go through. The audio tour is included and it makes it 100x better than just walking through and looking at the exhibits. Pedantic warning; There are... More

Just like everything else in Kearney, the Archway museum is way overpriced. It took our family less than 20 minutes to walk through the museum. You have to wear headphones to understand what each exhibit is about so you can't talk to your family. The kids were scared of how dark it was inside, and hated it. Tickets should be... More

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a huge history buff and museums don't always keep my attention - but this one did! I really enjoyed the self-guided audio tour. You could go at your own pace and rather than just reading a bunch of text, you could scan different pieces around the museum and a 'virtual tour guide'... More

We have been to the "Arch" on several occasions and we always enjoy the experience. The "Arch" gives a great explanation of the waves of people that have crossed the nation from east to west. Access off of I-80 is easy from either west or east. The price is reasonable. Two miles to restaurants and motels in Kearney.
