Beautiful mosaic ceilings and floors, paintings and sculptures inside the 400-foot high capitol building are as impressive as its marble, bronze and gold leaf exterior and white tower topped by a bronze statue. Free guided tours are available.

Past and Present. See the history of Nebraska through art and architecture and See the present with state lawmakers roaming the halls or busy in session. The Rotundra is my favorite. Lie on the floor and look up at the ceiling! You'll see Nebraska is...More

This building has a little of everything. Gothic cathedral, prairie rustic, new American art, just not enough Art Deco! This is one of only a few US Capitols that aren't just resized D.C. The tours are well worthwhile, the guide very knowing of the building's...More

The Nebraska Capitol building has the best artwork in the state. Walk in and find the tour office. The tours are free and last about 30min.

The Nebraska State Capitol Building is a work of art that celebrates the human and natural history of the state and the region, as it serves as the centerpiece of the nation's only unicameral (one-house) legislature. It's worth taking the time to wander around in...More

Such a beautiful setting with ornate carvings on the exterior walls. Easy access, and a great deal of parking when visiting in the evening. We took a walk around the entire exterior, as a walking roof top, is available to the public at no charge.
