This seemingly untouched prairie is a nice place to pause and take in some natural beauty. We were visiting friends in nearby Red Cloud and they wanted us to see this spot. It was quite breezy when we visited, but we still were able to...More

I spent about and hour and a half one evening hiking the trails across this beautiful prairie land and then stayed to watch the sunset, which was breathtaking.

Although as previous reviewers have mentioned, the stop is small with signage and a trash can. You don't have to be a fan or Willa Cather or have even heard of her to enjoy the beauty of the 600 or so acres of preserved prairie....More

Mid grass prairie in the early fall. Thank you to those who work to preserve it, yet make it accessible.

Willa Cather writes about living in the prairie states, and visiting 'Her' prairie does give one the feeling of great expanse and 'aloneness' that comes across in her books. The prairie is being restored, and has a ways to go.
