We stopped there with a tour... they have a large house on it, a few cows but nothing there is actually a ranch. We didn't do the hikes or anything else but this is one place to take a pass on, there's plenty of other...More

There is a visitors center, picnic area and restrooms which could use some work. Trails are well marked and the views can be stunning. Harriet Lake was dry and off limits due to restoration efforts. We were not able to take a guided tour of...More

A 13 mile loop with many spots to stop and hike or just take in the scenery. Loved watching the climbing and repelling activity. Signs for tortoise, big horn sheep, burros and wild horses but I saw none of that.

What makes this place interesting are the previous owners: Actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes. The rooms inside the house are interesting by being furnished just old enough to be vintage (especially the kitchen with old fashioned stove and refrigerator). Outside offers a green...More

We tried twice to visit before successfully entering the ranch house. It is technically open only to 4 pm. The furniture, household furnishings, and other artifacts on display are fun. There is a lot of historical information available too. The staff on duty during our...More

Sadly I did not come on a day that they give tours. I was able to walk through the ranch but not the older parts of the property. The only name i knew of the owners was Howard Hughes, though he never stayed there. The...More
