Working fire station. Walk in and they will be happy to open the museum door. Great place to chat with the firemen. Attached to a large dog friendly park. Within a block of the Carson Mall.

This museum is a hidden gem in Carson City, but worth the visit if you would like to see historic fire fighting apparatus. There is even a Hunneman hand pumper, which I think was from the 1840s. The volunteer staff member was very informative and friendly.

I've tried several times to see this museum, since it has moved from it's original location to stewart street. it is only open business days during business hours. this time we were there during the week and were very impressed with the small collection .
