About
Located in downtown Las Vegas, this pedestrian mall spreads over five blocks along Fremont Street. Home to many casinos and hotels—including Golden Gate Hotel and Casino and Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel—it's also known for jaw-dropping shows and fun activities, from free concerts to the 12-story SlotZilla Zipline. Come just before evening to catch Viva Vision, a light and sound show that takes place on the world’s largest video screen—an LED canopy that spans 130,000 square feet. To make sure you don't miss any of the highlights, there's a variety of day and night walking tours available. – Tripadvisor

    Downtown Vegas
Fun little strip. Lots of free entertainment but be careful if you want to take pictures, I saw many tourists harassed into giving money…a lot of money. It’s an area where you need to use street smarts and know you’re surroundings. I was told the casinos there give you better odds at winning. The restaurants are cheaper and again many free entertainment. Worth the trip. Night time the place is hopping.

One of the best "free" activities
So much fun! I recommend practicing saying "No thank you!" before interacting with some of the buskers. Bring a few dollar bills so you can take a photo with some of the models and tip some of the performers. But this can be a free activity. So fun to just experience everything you see.

    Liked It Better Before
Well...I guess I'm officially old. The last time we were in Vegas (like 20 years ago), the Fremont Street Experience was a really cool neon light show using millions of colored lights. Now it's just a big (really big) video screen showing music videos. I liked the old version better. So much for progress.

    great experience
love fremont street. no need to book a show. the street is the show. being from rural Montana, we experience sights, sounds and creatures that we never experience at home. the food is better and cheaper than the strip and the casinos take your money slower. we stay at the four queens , and have never had a problem. the other hotels are probably fine also, and none have a resort fee.

    Loved it
Old Las Vegas and much more to it than the Strip where it's all about the Jazz and betting, lots going on down the street and the screen which stretches the whole length of the street is amazing! loads of street artists going on and unlike the strip they are allowed to be there, you will notice them standing in a circle, this is because they have been allocated this and can't go out of this circle or they lose there place. unlike on the Strip where it's a free for all with the various mime street artists and girls grabbing anyone for a picture. If you are going to Vegas you have to come to Freemont, you won't be disappointed as there is so much going on, don't just stick to the Freemont Experience as well, take a walk down to the container park with the fire breathing preying mantis and good vibe

    Nice update
I haven't been to Vegas in 15 years. We always loved Fremont St, everything less expensive than the strip. My friend who lives in Vegas told us to keep an eye out for creeps. We had our grandkids with us. Ages 12 and 8. We decided to go right around sunset. There was a live band playing , the overhead was planets and spaceships. The Zipline hadn't started yet. We stayed about an hour, brought some souvenirs. I stayed glued to the grandkids. My husband encountered a couple of very angry homeless guys. We ate earlier at Rock Pizza. They validated the parking ticket. We didn't see any of the lewdness we had heard about. Too early? If you go just be very careful. Like you would in any large city now.

    Fun and Folly!
Reasonably priced casinos, food and souvenirs, and a beautiful ceiling! Fun to people watch and had a great afternoon at Binnion's playing Pai Gow. Perpetual scent of weed in the air and the casinos were smoky, unlike on the strip. Lots of fun shops to explore. Please leave your children at home!

    Party City
If you only have visited the Strip in LV, you must go to and experience Fremont Street, also referred to as “Downtown”. The LED canopy is amazing and the music and live entertainment is fun. You have a variety of casinos, one next to the other. No long walks to get from one casino to another like the Strip. Here you get an old Vegas feel. A couple of “need to know”. There is a good deal of pot smoking so if you are sensitive to this, you have been warned. Also, in my opinion, not suitable for younger children (under 16) as there are some topless outdoor entertainers and lots of booties. The best part - all of the outdoor entertainment is free!

    Come with reservation…beware
Fremont street is in the midst of the downtown area. The video ceiling is beyond cool. There is a Chick-fil-a at the Golden nugget. Lots of cool souvenir shops with great prices but there are strippers, pot smell everywhere, booby girls, Chipendale strippers, casinos…my teen got a quick seedy education very quickly. Buses come infrequently and walking in the area is a little shady. An experience, yes! Not for everyone but interesting. Zip lines go down the length of the street. Cool!

    Old School Vegas
This is OLD Vegas. We did not stay long but wished we had more time here. It is being revitalized and the area will be back to its old glory soon. If you want history of Vegas and old school stuff, this is the place to find it!

Such a fun place to be. Love the vibe and the sights. Casinos seem much more friendly and enjoyed it thoroughly. Beer is way cheaper than the strip. Lots of happy hours, deals and bargains. Souvenirs should be bought here.
The street 'entertainers' vary in quality and some of them can be aggressive if you walk on, but just say no to them politely and walk on. You are not obliged to tip them and they can't make you.
Best sports is in Circa, its HUGE. love Whisky Licker Up revolving bar, also, not strictly Fremont but give Hogs and Heifers down towards mob museum a drop in.

Great vibes, a ton of fun, live music, reasonable casinos and food and drink, save yourself hundreds hanging out there vs the over priced strip, check out Dont Tell Momma piano bar, America's got talent!

Very cool set up with the light show, zip lines and live music! The area was dirty and felt unsafe. I will not go back at night time.

Fremont Street is a must see when visiting Las Vegas. We enjoyed the changing scenes on the screens above & the first show of the evening.

I believe Fremont is still probably one of the coolest things about Vegas.
It is sheer entertainment. Great music with multiple stages. Keep an open mind because you see and experience all sorts of things walking it.

We Ubered from the strip area. $20 each way. It seems like a different world than the strip. Loved all the lights and randomness. We zip lines. Not as scary as anticipated.

GO! Freemont was amazing! It's similar to Beale in Memphis or Bourbon in New Orleans. Long stretch of bars, restaurants, casinos, outdoor entertainment, folk in the street having a good time. Prices are much better than the strip too

If you’ve never been, take the time to take a wander along the street under the dome and check out the crowds and all the “interesting “ activities any evening of the week. Loud, colourful and entertaining. The videos and scenes on the overhead dome are worth the trip!

This seems like a really great way to highlight the old downtown area. Really enjoyed the area and the light show, lots of different places, options, and people. The live music and street performers are a great addition to an already eclectic mix. It does seem outside the general area of the experience it is dark and not as welcoming.

We had fun but I wouldn’t stay out late on it unless you are all adults. The crowd changes and it seems like a lot of prostitution is out on the hunt. I had a friend robbed while hanging out in the Golden Nugget bar. He sat his wallet and phone down next to him for a minute and in a matter of seconds it was gone. It was crowded and fun but happened so fast. By the time he was able to find us to use phone to locate his it was turned off so he couldn’t track. They over a couple hours had charged thousands to cards and broke into his phone and went through all apps that had any value, Venmo, Uber eats, etc. be careful but fun if you go early enough to avoid the crazy’s at night.
