We thought it was a huge waste of money. My husband was super excited about it, but already told me after 2 minutes that he was super disappointed. Not worth the money!
Shame on MGM casinos to charge more than double for parking because there was an event at the allegiant stadium! We even showed at the parking garage that we have tickets for the exhibition and still got charged $35 for parking instead of $15! Huge rip off!

Save your time and money – this museum is a total letdown. Expecting an enriching educational experience, I was greeted with empty spaces and cheap replicas that hardly pass for the real deal. In a city like Vegas, bursting with thrilling attractions, this place falls flat. Don't bother wasting your time here when there are countless other exciting things to explore in the area. Give it a hard pass.

I was disappointed that there was nothing authentic of any Egyptian artifacts. I would have thought there would have been some items. I also think from some others pictures that some of the areas were blocked off. Overall I saw more on educational TV shows and documentary’s. It was not bad but it was not amazed.

Interesting exhibit. But you can’t read most of the labels. Too small and too dark. Pass on the extra charge for the VR. I’m really not sure that the price is justified. It was an almost. The VR needed a better script. The exhibit needed better signage. But the PowerPoint slideshows were well done but it is a lot of standing

Worth a stop if you are into such things. Fair amount of content. Decent layout and housed clearly in the right structure. I almost skipped the VR Tour included but am glad I didn’t. It’s a good recap if once again, you really have any interest in such dry topics.

I chatted with the Luxor Staff and confirmed that the King Tut exhibit was donated to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. If you care about Egypt and King Tutankhamun it is worth going to see these replicas at their new location. There is a King Tut replica exhibit that is traveling the USA starting in October 2014. You should use a search engine to see if "The Discovery of King Tut" is coming to a town or museum near you.
Best,
M

Don't bother!

I had a free ticket and wished I hadn't wasted my time going in. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to pay $5 for the privilege!

You walk through and watch a 5 minute film about the tomb, and then pass by various copies of some of the artifacts. They are so tacky - and some the gold paint is chipped, so you can see bare plaster. Not a patch on the original. These are bad copies!

Having seen one room, you walk round the corner, see another room, and emerge in a gift shop.

What a rip-off!

I am sad to say that when I visited the Luxor last year the King Tut Exhibit was no longer there. So sad and heartbreaking. It was truly a magnificent experience for someone in love with ancient Egypt. As a child I looked in awe at images of the underground (not in a pyramid) of the Boy King's treasures and when I went it was magic and I was in awe. An excellent replica of King Tutankhamun tomb. I do wish they would find a permanent location for this exhibit.

I saw King Tut tour sometime between 2006-2008 and I was disappointed in that. Sure it has the REAL artifacts, maybe 10 to 15 were actually his things but most of them from his era or similar to the ones in his tomb. I can only clearly remember KT's bust, a dagger, a necklace and a small coffin in his image. Where as with the replica exhibit that was previously in the Luxor I felt immerse in the wonder and beauty of King Tut's funerary treasure rooms.

I visited this King Tut's Tomb and Museum a very long time ago but the date on Trip Advisor would only go back to Oct. 2012.

I found King Tut's great and highly recommend it. It is an authentic reproduction! You get to see how King Tut's rooms looked the day Carter found them in the 1920's. If you use your imagination, you can imagine how it must have felt to peer into these rooms for the first time in over 2000 years. A great history lesson. A unique Las Vegas attraction. Well worth $5.00. I have seen it twice and will always pop in if I am in the Luxor. If you can't get to Egypt, this is the next best thing.

I was disappointed at these displays but I could be tainted having been to the museums in Cairo, Valley of the Kings, etc. Not to mention what you can see at the museums in London. There are only a few pieces to view. If this is your only chance - take it and dream of international trips in your future.
