Skiing? Snowboarding? Where to? Whenever someone asks me where I'll go to do snow sports, the automatic answer would be Mt. Rose. This resort is family friendly, and it provides classes for both kids and adults. I've been learning with them for around 7 years...More

Love skiing at Mt. Rose. It's a great local secret! Our family has had ski passes for the last four years and each season we've gotten our money's worth. Easy drive from Reno, never a problem parking and the staff couldn't be more helpful!!

Super easy access, this is THE locals spot to ski and ride. Great mountain, long season, very reasonable pricing. Two great lodges (Rose and Winters Creek). The best value at Lake Tahoe.

Enjoyed a business lunch at the Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose today - and the view was absolutely stunning! Fantastic staff, great food and friendly vibe. Located 4000 feet above the Washoe Valley (actual elevation over 8,000 feet) - the location could not be...More

Still lots of snow up on the mountain, but the roads were clear. Really a pretty area. Just pulled off into the parking area and took photos.

My husband and I got passes this year since we live 10 min down the hill, and we had so much fun! It is about 25 min from Reno making it the closest ski resort. It has the highest base in all of Tahoe. It...More

My wife and I like Mt Rose during the week. Not crowded and you can get in many runs in just a few hours. Love the two for Tuesdays and half price for women on Thursdays.

I've never encountered altitude sickness at Mt. Rose or anywhere, and I regularly backpack at altitudes of 8,000-10,000 feet. It won't be an issue.

Hello adventurer! It will take approximately 20-25 min. To get to Mt Rose from GSR. Another 10 to Chickadee Ridge. I would speculate there will still be snow in a month. We just got 5-6 inches in the higher elevations... More
