Great snow day activities.

Mt. Rose is a great place for beginners to take ski lessons, has friendly helpful employees. Depending on the powder, snow boarding is great. An easy commute from Reno.

This is a rather small but great ski resort for those that live in the area. Buying a year pass makes this resort an excellent one to visit often for a few hours each weekend day (and during the week for those who don't have to work). The people on the hill are upbeat and friendly and there are sufficient... More

It was just me and my 9 and 11 year old sons. The mountain was perfect for the 9 year old beginner. Lots of greens and he even managed Lakeview lift trails. There were several challenging blues off Lakeview as well. Great that about half the mountain ended at the same location. Easy to keep track of everyone. Will definitely... More

This ski area is the closest to Reno (30 minutes drive), and doesn't attract the "California hordes" that flock to nearby Northstar and Squaw. The resort has tons and tons of snow, a wide variety of runs, small lift lines and decent amenities. Look for discount tickets/season ski passes though because it's $115 otherwise

Mt. Rose Ski Resort is really good for families with children as they have good beginner slopes to learn and it's not so crowded. Also the Lodge is very cool and sunny. The service is very friendly.

Top 5 ski days ever, we loved this mountain on a Tuesday (2 for1). We had perfect weather, packed powder and hardly any one there. One of us is a low intermediate skier and she loved the easier trails, of which there are many. The experts (who are from east coast) had a blast on all the terrain . Lots... More

Mt Rose came highly recommended by TripAdvisor and the locals in Reno. I took my wife here to come an learn how to snowboard. Little did we know a storm was blowing in as we arrived. It made our lesson quite interesting. Pro's- Cost of rentals and instruction were affordable. Staff were courteous and professional. Easy to get to if... More

I went to Ladies Day at Mt. Rose today and had a blast. The day started in the Timbers bar area with free coffee and hot chocolate. They went over a few things that were happening for the day and events that are coming at Mt. Rose. From there we went to meet according to the flags which were blue,... More

If the chutes are good, there is not a better hill around. The rest of the hill is good, but not that difficult and the runs are fairly short.
