I went snowboarding at Mount Rose Christmas Eve 2017. I was amazed at the lack of crowds compared to Heavanly and Northstar. The snow was great and everything was open except for the chutes. All the lift operators were friendly. I even forgot my season...More

The drive to the ski resort was nice. It was my first time with my family. It was a little bit much but otherwise great.

Our hometown resort continues to improve every year! We love this place, it is always groomed well, the staff is delightful, and every skill level has enough to ski or board on.

Moderate hike with great views, including Lake Tahoe, meadow and waterfall. Easy, plentiful parking. We hiked in August, yet still found snow for photo op. This is a section of the Tahoe Rim Trail.

I've never encountered altitude sickness at Mt. Rose or anywhere, and I regularly backpack at altitudes of 8,000-10,000 feet. It won't be an issue.
