Nice small place

This is a small place. It was very clean and friendly people. We played cards and the dealers were nice. They have $3 tables.

Call it nostalgia, or maybe it's habit, but there is a sense of place and comfort in the historic Cal-Neva with its traditions, like steak and eggs special breakfast deal. With sale of the Nugget in Sparks, this is the last of the old-line clubs staying with its historic roots in Reno gaming. Good service and good times.

Cal-Neva is the first casino I ever visited, and I always enjoy going back every time I get to Reno. It has gone through many changes over the years, and its current remodel works quite well.

If you don't need all the bells and whistles of the higher end Vegas style casinos and just want a good meal and at great price then this is the place to go in Reno. My husband could not believe how delicious his $9.99 steak and shrimp dinner tasted. For that price he was not expecting much and was very... More

Two dollar 16 oz beer and beer pong.. The place is run down, dark, and dirty. Old men were sitting around gawking at the drunk young women. Yuck, yuck, yuck...

This place is very dirty and run down. I don't care that you can get prime rib cheep here. We were looking for a good meal but left quickly. Walking through the pool hall made me feel creeped out. The smell of pot smoke was everywhere in there. Stay far away from this place!

This place has always been my favorite to gamble because of the reasonable table stakes and inexpensive refreshments. The place can be smoky however and the restaurants are lower end. Great place for craps/21.

Cal Neva is unique in Reno; rather than being a hotel-casino like the majority of the neighboring properties, it's a condo-casino. The hotel rooms have all been converted to private residence condos. So this review will be dedicated to the casino and the restaurants. The casino occupies 2 buildings, a west wing and an east; a walkway on the 2nd... More

This is a locals casino, thus the Karaoke room is the most popular place. The blackjack and craps tables in there are $5 most of the time, and if you go upstairs guys will sometime find scantily clad women dealing blackjack in "The Pleasure Pit". Some might wish that some of them put their clothes back on, but there is... More
