Nice fall walk

Nice break from the busy city life. Nice walk on a fall day. Lots of friendly animals to see and interact with. Make sure to bring quarters for the duck feed. They will love you for it.

Family FUN!
Jul. 2021 • Family
This is awesome, the whole walk should take about an hour.

This is my first time here, so maybe because of COVID19 they have paths blocked off… not sure!

The price is reasonable, no parking fee the only thing is they only have 1 CANTEEN…..(which is super slow)

Bring snacks and have a picnic

Great for families

A nice wildlife park which would be a great trip for any family with children. Peacocks roaming around the park freely were a highlight.

Still a great destination

This park has been around forever and is still a lovely, peaceful excursion among wildlife. Things are not too crowded and there are alternate routes to explore among the habitats.

Beautiful Park
Sep. 2019
After reading reviews on this park, we thought an hour would be enough time. It's much bigger than we thought. We were there for 3 hours, and saw everything there was to see. It's very family friendly. We had fun feeding the ducks. The walking trail was very nice as well.

Beautiful park, happy animals!
Aug. 2019
We could have spent a lot longer here. We came mid-afternoon and left right at closing -- we could have spent at least another hour. This is not a place you'll want to rush through.

Wear comfy walking shoes -- I found by the end of our visit, my feet were aching because I wore shoes without good support. And you'll be walking around a lot!

We went in late August and did not need bug spray. There are a few spots, esp. around the marsh, where you are walking through heavily treed/shaded areas, but we never found that we were being swarmed. I can picture the bugs being bad in spots earlier in the summer.

There were frogs to be spotted in the marsh, and lots of little baby eels in the water.

The animals in this park are very calm and seem to be relaxed and happy. Each of them has ample spots to hide and nap if needed. The cougar was not doing well when we visited, and unfortunately we found out yesterday that he passed away.

The enclosures are very clean, and the animals all seemed to have fresh water and fresh veggies (those who eat veggies). The two lynxes had a playful wrestling match while we watched. A lot of the animals were sleepy as it was a hot day.

There is an interpretive centre at the start of the marsh walk which has a lot of conservation-themed activities for kids, some cool displays and some living creatures in aquariums.

This place is REALLY well run and the people who work there seem to really care about the animals. I was struck by how clean the enclosures are and how happy and calm the animals seem to be. Give yourself a good long time to explore this special place!

We stopping at Shubenacadie Park for a couple of hours with our grandkids ages 2 and 4. They enjoyed the park very much. Lots to see and an easy walk They really enjoyed feeding the ducks and deer with the food that can be bought on site.

Great place to walk and see animals
Aug. 2019
This was a wonderful spot and we spent a couple of hours walking the paths and seeing all the animals. Quite of a variety of North American animals including a moose and an Arctic Wolf. The paths are nicely laid out and everything is appropriately labelled with all the important information. If you have kids, there are places where you can feed the ducks and I think the deer. There are also several peacocks roaming the grounds . We took a lot of photos. There is one place that has some food and a few drink vending machines but there are picnic tables so it is probably best to bring your own food and drink. A very enjoyable place to spend time.

A great place to spend an hour or two!
Aug. 2019
We all enjoyed this park. We loved seeing all the different animals. We got a map to help us find the animals we wanted to see. My recommendation is to GO EARLY. We were there around 9:30am and the animals were fairly active. We were there early August. The animals seemed to be well cared for. I would definitely go back if possible. Highly recommend! There are bathrooms as well. The price was very small for a family of 4 it cost $13.50!! It was about a 30 minute drive from Truro.
