We purchased four tickets for the cog on a Sunday for a bio-diesel cog. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our 10:30 a/m slot. As soon as we got out of our vehicle, an announcement was made they were boarding. We rushed down to board...More

Though we visit New Hampshire quite often we have never taken a ride on the cig railway. It was terrific!! The brakeman was a font of knowledge and very engaging. On the slow ride up there are a number of original sites with some interesting...More

A family outing of 12 people took the 10:30am Cog on Fathers Day. Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time to get checked in. The ride takes about 40 minutes up to the top. We were fortunate that we had a beautiful weather...More

An extreme weather change occurs when you reach your destination, the top of Mt Washington. A friendly staff with informative stories and wonderful scenery makes this ride a great adventure.

We took the Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington. It was cold, icy, and windy. They said it is only sunny 65 days a year so it is very difficult to be there on a sunny day. We were disappointed at the top....More

We made the trip in the last week of May and were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day. We took the Friday 12.30 train and were pleased to find just a handful of fellow travellers in our carriage. The best views are on the left...More

Firstly a word of advice, it's very cold and windy up on the top. Dress accordingly no matter how warm it seems at the Base station. We went for the steam driven train, first thing in the morning. It was worth it for the nostalgia...More

The Mount Washington Cog Railway was the most amazing experience from the time we stepped foot in the building to scan our tickets, until we arrived back to the building from the top of the mountain. Everybody there was so nice. They had food, coffee,...More

The Mountain is 75% of the time rainy and/or windy BUT don't let that stop you from a visit. Today, June 14th, the temp at the top of the mountain was 47 degrees with a wind chill of lower 30's. But again don't let that...More

Allow about three hours. It doesn’t take that long, but they give you an hour at the top. It’s not cheep, but well worth the cost. I learned so many things I did not know about NH and Mt Washington.
