There's nothing like going up to the top of Mt. Washington on the Cog. The views can't be beat. It is a family friendly trip, but I found that most of the young children on our train did not have the patience to sit still for an hour. It was miserable for them and their poor parents. For the money... More

Its a slow climb to the top of the mountain...not scary. Price was a little high @ $65 per person senior rate, but we were glad we took the train instead of the auto road.

Staying in the White Mountains whilst on 2-week RV tour of New England. Decided spontaneously to take the Cog Railway to the Mt Washington summit, especially as it was a clear sunny day! Bumpy road leading up to the base railway station but there was a separate big car park reserved for RVs. Good facilities with a small restaurant and... More

Great views and only 1 hour up. The wait on top is a bit long at one hour. The inclines are incredible. It will look and feel as if you are going over a cliff VERY SLOWLY. The sensation of the cog railway is basically that of a wooden roller coaster. The engineers are friendly and helpful, but get there... More

We were a group of 8: 4 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 kids (ages 7 and 3). The trip takes about an hour and narration is delivered by the brakemen. Both up and down, they were fun and informative. The kids loved it. At the top, you have plenty of time to explore. The climate changed several times at the... More

We had a wonderful time riding the Cog Railway. The scenery is breathtaking, the staff is friendly, informative, and funny. Plus it's great for families. Be sure to have your picture taken by the Cog Arazzi, we ended up with a beautiful family photo to remember the trip! Don't forget to bring a jacket to wear when you get to... More

Fun day if the weather is on your side. Great for families. The staff do a great job while you are on your 45 min trip up and down the Mountain. Even on a busy day they can run 3 trains an hour. You will meet plenty of hikers up on top. Be sure to check the weather and bring... More

Just wanted to let anyone thinking of going to the Cog Railroad in Bretton Woods N.H. to not think about it but GO! What a great trip to the top of Mt Washington. The brakeman talked about the history of the Cog as well as Mt Washington itself . The views were incredible and we all enjoyed it. When I... More

Such a great experience! We were lucky and got fantastic views from the summit but overall I would highly suggest the trip anyways. The breakmen were great and gave a lot of very interesting information.

We had a great trip on the Cog Railway. It is pricey but we waited until the last train of the day to get the discounted price. Watch the weather - we lucked out with great visibility and could see into Canada! I wish we had a little more time on top of Mt. Washington. If we did it again... More
