Just a few minutes off the highway, the Audubon Center is a "must-see" for nature lovers. There are several well maintained hiking trails. We took the yellow trail through a beautiful woodland to the pond. The trail is well marked and mostly level, but the...More

We went here to hike. Just as we were about to start on the trail, two groups of summer campers came out of the wilderness. The trail we followed was very quiet. No creatures were stirring. We saw why this state is nicknamed the Granite...More

This is an excellent hiking area just outside of Concord. There are shorter and longer trails (very well-marked) winding through a dense canopy of trees next to a small lake. The warmer weather during our visit was ideal for seeing the Fall colors.

This park is only a few minutes from downtown Concord. It has hiking trails, a nature center, a gift shop and provides a home for disabled birds. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our visit, but wished we had brought bug spray along.

Not knowing quite what to expect, we rocked up, ecpeting something more like a bird/raptor rehabilitaion centre. This seemed much more like an educational centre for children. As such it looked really well appointed and all the children seemed to be getting so much out...More

Don’t let the cold and snow keep you from enjoying the outdoors. The McLane Audubon Center in Concord and the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn have snowshoes for rent ($7/member, $9/non-member) and trails to enjoy... More
