You are literally surrounded by mountains with a sandy beach and beautiful small lake in front of you..serenity at it's best. Clean water and for little kids it is safe and a gradual slope. If you look up onto the ski trails you can often...More

This is a family park. With good picnic facilities and shallow swimming areas, with great views of the surrounding peaks a perfect combination for a family day out. Even when busy it still feels peaceful.

Beautiful small lake with relatively warm water, great for swimming; some sand along the shore was fun for kids to dig. Also enjoyed hundreds of tiny frogs along shore and pollywogs in water. Dramatic views of Cathedral Ledge above.

It was a beautiful day and a great place to cool off. There is a trail around the lake and there are also other trails that head in many directions. I would say that the lake area itself it on the small side and probably...More

My husband and I decided to try Echo Lake after going up Cathedral Ledge since it was so close and such a hot day. Not for us. Just wanted a place to relax and maybe swim. It seemed to be all families with little kids,...More

We always spend two or three mornings by the lake when we visit the area. The beaches are clean and there are plenty of picnic tables to settle at. This year the water was really warm and full of tadpoles. Venture further round the lake...More

Echo lake is a great swimming spot for families with young children. Entrance is cheap, there is lots of shade and picnic tables, there is plenty of shallow water, the toilets are clean and the water is warm (unlike the Saco River). As an adult...More

We walked to the lake from a home we rented on Airbnb. It was off season, so no State park fees applied during the time of our visit.

I would assume yes but not sure. that said, it is not a very big body of water and i would not consider it a great place to kayak. you can walk around the entire lake in probably 20 minutes.
