So Maine was supposed to have a thunderstorm on Wednesday, August 22. Not good for a trip to Canobie Lake Park, which was what we had planned. We decided on the Children's Museum of NH as Plan B. It didn't rain but the grandkids LOVED...More
Visited for first time with a 15 month and 2 yr old. Amazingly had to pay $10 for each of them as well as $10 per adult. Found the museum to be run down, somewhat dirty and several exhibits broken/closed. In addition there is a...More

Took the granddaughter here during spring break. She loved it, especially the post office and the build it fly it exhibit. It was a nice day and she also enjoyed the playground. Looking forward to going back.
I have visited this museum multiple times over the last few years with my kids, and have also hosted 2 birthday parties here. I can't say enough about how awesome this place is! A must visit for families!!
This is a small museum, but it has unexpectedly a lot of different things for kids to do. We spent 3 hours there with a 3y/o and a 7y/o, both had a lot of fun. We will come back. Great place to go in a...More
I've been here twice in the past year. What a gem! A few things worthy of mentioning:
1) Use the discounts available-I was able to get a discount pass from my local public library. Also, as a teacher, I got in free with my badge....More

Hi Jeanne, while the majority of our visitors are younger, between the ages of six months to 8 years, a lot of older kids do find our exhibits fun. There's a lot of fun technology used in many of our exhibits, and the Muse studio is a place for all ages to create things in an open-ended way.
I'd encourage you to give it a try. If none of the exhibits in the museum sound appealing, I would suggest bringing them to the August 29th, 2015 Dover Mini Maker Faire, which takes place in and around the CMNH. That will have a lot of cool inventions and workshops perfect for 14 year olds, or any age for that matter.
Thanks for the question!
