Unique to review the history.. a quick stop. I recommend for the historical notes.. a fun place to stop. A very short walk. Fun to see what and how they set up the “sites”. 30 minutes Wil take care of the stop.

Great area to street h your legs and learn about the face on the mountain. There is an area you can walk to and stand which looks like face still there. Interesting to read about the amount of people that volunteer ed their time to...More

When the Old Man collapsed in 2003, lots of ideas were floated for replacement. I hear that there was even a suggestion for a fiberglass model in the original's place. But down to earth New Hampshire natives refused to accept a substitution. The profile plaza...More

We thought because the old man lost his nose this attraction would no longer be interesting. But it seems they really put a lot of time and work into preserving this. We enjoyed it.

Having seen the real Old Man in The Mountain before it fell, this “attraction” seemed very lame. You stand on “footprints” representing your height, and close one eye to look past the edge of a pole to see what the profile used to look like....More

It may be useful to do a bit of research before you go. There is a rather nice Visitor’s Center. It is equipped with an ice cream store, gift shop, educational area, and bathrooms. The parking lot is HUGE. The trail that leads to the...More

We knew nothing about the Old Man of the Mountain before our visit. The small museum and exhibits along the path showed us what it used to look like, plus gave us an appreciation of what it meant to the people of New Hampshire. Then,...More

This is a way to see a bit of history. The walk is nice and easy. There is handicapped parking. Even though the original monument is no longer there you can still view the Old Man
