Franconia Notch State Park is a great destination for an afternoon, a day, or a few days. We spent parts of two days in the park; considering all there is to see and do, we could easily have spent more time. We enjoyed the tram ride up Cannon Mountain and a hike at Flume Gorge. (We purchased the combo tickets.)... More

I felt pretty bad taking my mother here who tried and tried to turn around. Going at her pace, we finally made it out, but it became more about getting her out than it did about enjoying the trail. We weren't the only one. There was a mother and daughter duo in front of us that had to keep taking... More

We really enjoyed this walk. It is about 2 miles all round. Lots of interest from the Gothenburg, flume, huge boulders, moss, colourful trees and views. Shuttle bus takes you the first half mile if you need it. Spent ages taking photos. Bit expensive but very enjoyable walk. Cafe in the visitor centre, film and museum.

Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire was beautiful, especially the water fall. Very nice! It's a nice place to go for a family vacation. Lot's of walking, make sure you have comfortable shoes and of course water...bring water. I think the hike to water fall is about 2 miles...

The hike up to the top of Flume Gorge is well worth the price. Much of the climb is on boardwalks and wooden stairs which not only protect the surroundings but also give a great view of the waterfall. Fall color was at its peak while we were there. Crowds were also at a peak. Even so, the hike was... More

This park is a bit strange as it's located in the middle of the freeway. You exit 3 different exits to get to different parts of the park. The gondola costs money, and just to walk one of the hikes you need to pay $16.00 per person. There are other hiking areas to walk for free. The maps are confusing... More

We started at the Visitors Centre where we had a little breakfast, before starting our hiking tour at the State Park. We walked through the woods, along the waterfalls, over the covered bridges, etc. It is a recommended trail to see the nature here.

The visitor center recommended this as a good hike. We had trouble finding the trail head as there were no signs visible from the roadway. Finally we saw a group of cars parked in a large parking lot so we parked next to them and there was a sign that read "Bald Mountain - Artist's Bluff Hike Loop Trail 1... More

This is a beautiful and unique natural wonder! With the leaves changing color and the hills shining all around, it was a great time to visit.
