I learned to ski at Black Mountain when I was a child back in the 80's. Not much has changed since then and that is not a bad thing. My kids have only skied a few times and it had been a few years since they were last on skis. We were there on a Thursday, non vacation period. The... More

We decided to try Black Mountain this past weekend, since we were staying at Whitney's Inn. There was a fresh snowfall of about 6" overnight and we were excited to try out a new area. The lift tickets were half what we would of paid at the larger areas, there were no lines at the lifts, and the workers were... More

Hi, We wanted to stay away from the large resorts on this weekend and are sure glad we did. We had a lovely sunny day at Black mountain and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The snow was nice and we enjoyed checking out the snow sculptures and the horses. There was a online radio station there playing... More

Nice ski area for families. Came by to check out the snow sculptures which were right at the base of the skiing.

Black Mountain is a classic old school New England ski mountain. The trails can be narrow and tree lined. The lifts are small and slower compared to the other resorts nearby. There is plenty of challenging terrain for advanced skiers and green trails for beginners. Great for an easy half day ski.

This is a great place for beginners particularly or maybe even intermediate skiers. The trails are not too difficult and the people here are very friendly and helpful

Our family has skied at Black for many years and while we still enjoyed it, it is clear that Black has become so much less family-friendly. The lift attendants used to be so friendly to everyone and now they don't even acknowledge you. They also used to have a Family Passport ticket option for 2 adults and 2 juniors that... More

Beautiful in the Fall. Leaves just beginning to change and the colors were beautiful! Would love to spend more time on our next visit.

My husband, parents and I recently went horseback riding at Black Mountain. We have grown up with and have owned horses our whole lives so we were looking forward to it. Needless to say I was very underwhelmed. The man that checked us in clearly wanted to be elsewhere. He actually did take off for a bit(we were early)! We... More
