I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews here and so many negative on Yelp. Also, I wish I trusted the reviews on Yelp because a lot of people had an experience similar to ours. If you consider renting from this place, I recommend you read reviews on both sites before making a decision. We rented 2 single... More

We spent half of a 90 degree plus day kayaking the Pemi River. What a great experience. Mellow water, few people and great fun. Our only complaints were the lack of a changing room and bathroom. Oh, and we really felt that a little cooler should have been an option. We made due with warm drinks. We got good instruction... More

We rented four bikes for Franconia Notch bike path- the bikes were old , unsafe and in need of repair... First, there were no gears or hand brakes. The foot brakes on the bike were not working well- they were almost nonexistent, especially for a tour that is touted at 90% downhill! Second, the tires were in dire need of... More

Our bikes are expertly maintained. The air pressure is checked and the van carries an air compressor to the drop off. We tell people to call if they encounter a problem and we will run a replacement bike to them. Hand brakes have proved to be hazards when dealing with people who don't ride regularly. We add new bikes every... More

We're not really 'outdoors' people. We're a little overweight and couch potatoes! The river looked so inviting...so we waddled over to Art's on Main Street and decided to go kayaking! We went with the amateur version of kayaking, with only a few gentle 'rapids'. We were dropped off at the river, given instruction and told where to meet up after... More

We started our kayaking season with a trip on the lower Pemi. Beautiful day. The sun shown through the green leaves. We were told that the water is lower than normal due to the lack of snow last winter. We bumped on a few rocks that we should have avoided but we greatly enjoyed the two hour trip.

This is a bare bones, no frills easy way to get a 2 hr really fun kayak run down the Pemigewasset from the Ledges to Robin's Nest bridge. Art's crew will trailer your Yak or rent you one for $20 so $40 if you rent for the trip. They load you up, pack you in the van and drop off... More

Art offers a tour down the river. You are dropped near a bridge and after passing the second one, which will take you approximately two hours, you will be picked up again. Driver offered good explanation for newbies in the kayak in advance, making sure everyone would be safe. The water was very low when we went so not too... More

We are very familiar with the Lincoln/North Woodstock area and were looking for a quick family excursion on the Pemigewasset River. We have gone to Art's before and we had another GREAT TIME. Staff was informative and helpful and provided all the necessary instructions and guidance. We rented 4 kayaks and got on the short shuttle to the put in... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a nice review. People are quick to criticize but not always as fast to acknowledge good service! More
