We went here to obtain information on Tuckerman’s Ravine and Kancamagus Highway. We spoke with a gentleman named Jeff Gillianson(? sp). He was a fount of very useful information and we based our 2nd day of hiking on his recommendations. His advice was knowledgeable and excellent. There was all kinds of useful information and history to be found at Pinkham... More

I have stayed in a number of these over the years. They are just the BEST. After a day or two of hiking, it is wonderful to have one of these come into view. The staff is friendly & energetic. There is always a hot cup of tea and some sort of baked good available for the weary traveler. And,... More

At almost $100 a night a stay in one of the huts is not cheap, but you MUST consider the fact that EVERYTHING is packed in to the huts. There's no road for a truck to drop off supplies! That having been said, our stays at the Madison Spring, Lake of the Clouds and Mizpah Spring Huts were excellent. The... More

We just got back from Carter Notch Hut, which is my favorite hut. I would recommend a hut stay for anyone, although I don't love Mizpah. My kids did their first overnight hike (staying at a hut) at age 5 years old (Zealand Falls Hut) and now all 3 of them still love these trips. My girls are ages 17,... More

Hiked three days and two nights staying at Mitzpah Springs and Lake of the Clouds. Hiked with three dads and a crew of boys...great memories were made! The Croo makes the Huts worth the hikes to get there! The staff are inviting and very helpful as we arrived quite tired. The food was beyond expectations with fresh baked breads and... More

We stayed at Greenleaf and Lonesome Lake Huts. Hiked in with tween/teen, so families...give it a go! The Croo makes the Huts worth the hikes to get there! Their welcoming and enthusiastic attitudes helped as we arrived sweaty and tired. The food was plentiful and truly delicious. My kids loved the food too (can you say "homemade bread"?). Backpacking with... More
