Short trip but nice when there is Fall foilage

We went on the trip at the end of the season but there was still some color in the trees. It is a short trip from the Conway station which is a great station to see. The station... read more

My family - including a 4 and 8 year old - participated in the Santa Express the day after Thanksgiving. My kids were so excited for this activity. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The train was freezing and there was no holiday music, etc in our car. Decorations were sparse to say the least. When we arrived... More

This reviewer sent this complaint almost verbatim (minus the detail of what car her family rode in) to our general email address Monday morning. It was forwarded to me, and I responded to her in less than an hour after her message came in, letting her know how sorry I was about her family's experience and asking her what car... More

Firstly, this review does not reflect the Conway Scenic railroad since this event is sponsored as a fundraiser for the Believe in Books Literacy Foundation. I am giving such a poor review because of the HIGH cost of tickets. For a family of 4, coach tickets I paid $188. The ride was ok because the train itself was magnificent, but... More

I've written to this reviewer, thanking her for taking the time to write. As she indicates, we provide the trains only for Journey to the North Pole, and I've forwarded her comments to the folks at Believe in Books, who organize and staff the event It was nice to read that she liked our train ride! Disappointed of this none sense trip of nothing more than a waste of time and money. Train goes up and comes back on same route.

A fun time on a vintage railroad in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Railroad station is a classic. Employees are very friendly.

We went on the trip at the end of the season but there was still some color in the trees. It is a short trip from the Conway station which is a great station to see. The station has a lot of old memorabilia on display with information about the items. There is a nice little gift store in the... More

We appreciate this really nice, detailed feedback, and this reviewer is correct: the reservation section of our website is not particularly intuitive or easy to use. We are working with a vendor to improve its functionality in early 2017. In the meantime, we have ticket agents answering the phones here seven days a week. Susan Logan Marketing Manager CSRR More

Took the trip from Conway to Crawford Notch. Book early if you want a seat in the Dome Car. Expensive but worth it. Took the dining car on the way back. Lunch took service is slow and took whole of return journey. Website booking is not the best. However the trip is well worth it and a memorable experience.

Friends purchased tickets as a special birthday present. 6 hour journey which delivered on all fronts with the most beautiful views of the fall in the mountains. We didn't have a dinner reservation as we wanted the freedom not to be tied to the train when it stopped. We needn't have worried as this is all taken into consideration. I... More

They had two outings today, Wednesday, one at 11:30am and 1:30p.m. If you have small children it might be fun. We got on the train at 1:30pm, a 55 minute trip, it went up to Conway and returned (going backwards) to the station we left from. It took 55 min to go 11 miles and we saw nothing impressive. It... We went on the lunch trip. Food was good. Trip was out for 30 minutes, stop, sit for a bit, then reverse back to depot. No narration, lots of trees to see, but not much else.
