At the southern end of Ossipee Lake near Long Sands, off Conservation Trail Road, is the Ossipee Conservation Trail and Conservation Boardwalk. It is a beautiful short walk from a small parking area off Conservation Trail to the boardwalk which winds its way north about 0.2 of a mile right to a short beach on the southeastern end of Ossipee where it enters the Ossipee River and the three bays (Broad, Leavitt, and Berry). The views here are spectacular of the big lake and the skyline, including the best view of Mt. Chocorua you'll find anywhere. The boardwalk is a beautiful wonder which stretches through a short stretch of trees, and there are blueberry bushes all around you the whole way to the beach. I highly recommend this particular Ossipee Lake trail: Rt 25 to Long Sands Road to Conservation Trail Road. You won't regret it!

Ossipee Lake (and it's trail) is a beautiful place - with views of Mt Whittier, the Nickerson range, Mt. Chocorua (the most photographed mountain east of the Mississippi) and the White Mountains. I'm lucky enough to have access to a house on the lake. It's a perfect spot and you can hike, camp, and chill. Looking forward to my summer visit!

This was a lovely area to spendable lazy weekend with the family. We walked from the place we rented and it was nice to see the boats and the other side of the lake. It was nice even though it rained.
