I have only done a few historic home tours in Portsmouth. This one was pretty good. The home has a bunch of period pieces but not much owned by the occupants.

This is a nice out of the way place to visit. The tour guide was excellent, admission cheap, the grounds were wonderful. There are hiking trails through the neighboring woods and places to sit and watch the river. If you are interested in history, architecture,...More

A must for history and architectural buffs. The history of this home and its occupants parallels with that of this nation. The structure itself will keep the architect in you guessing.

Very interesting and informative tour. Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge about these families. Takes about an hour.

We loved the tour of this house. This house was one of the more interesting houses we have toured. It is right on the water and had lots of different rooms and nooks and crannies. It would of been a great house to grow up...More
