This centers on an old burrying ground that was forgotten. The city has done an excellent job of explaining the black history. I would recommend it to round out the history of the area.

Worth some time to learn about part of Portsmouth's history you probably didn't know. You'll be presented with historical accounts of Black history in New England that will ibe informative and moving at the same time.

We didn't and found it interesting that Portsmouth was a part of the underground railroad and had slaves. Bet it was a interesting time to live. They found graves of the slaves when doing roadwork, I believe. And restored the burail site.
