The trail goes along much of the historical section of town. Interesting placards at each location full of information.

Growing up in Portsmouth, I found a new realization of the what happened here many years past--growing up with black friends that were just friends

This centers on an old burrying ground that was forgotten. The city has done an excellent job of explaining the black history. I would recommend it to round out the history of the area.

Worth some time to learn about part of Portsmouth's history you probably didn't know. You'll be presented with historical accounts of Black history in New England that will ibe informative and moving at the same time.
