FYI: Sorry to learn that train is not running currently. Had been a fun, low key ride but no longer available.

The train is slow and relaxing and the commentary is good. The length, at about 45 minutes, is just right. Payment is by donation, so a family can enjoy this without breaking the bank. Leaving from the pretty and historic Silver Lake train station, where...More

Brought the grand children for a ride on the Silver Lake railroad. Saw a couple deer and my grandson got to blow the crossing horn. Left a donation and have brought other folks on this fun railroad.

A step back into the '40,s Plenty to see and do, including a period diner that serves ice cream! The views are spectacular, as it sits at the head of Silver Lake!

Railroad museum that has train rides on a donation basis. The conductor even looks authentic for the period. Many cute historical buildings and engines. Beautiful ride through woods, fields and marshes. Excellent! Great for families!

Walked up and greeted by a very nice older gentleman. Loved the scenery and the nice knowledgeable man on the car with us telling us about the history. You can't beat this ride at all!
