Tamworth Distilling & Mercantile is a craft, small-batch distillery in the heart of a historic and charming small-town. With our custom still we are able to make whiskey and brandy as well as vodka and gin. We offer tastings of our spirits as well as unique and delicious sodas, mixers and bitters. The mercantile is sure to have something you can't live without!

Located in the historic town of Tamworth, we visited on a beautiful sunny day so we were able to take our cocktails outside to sit by the scenic river. The distillery has a nice menu of delicious cocktails or you can do a sampler flight of their spirits. Lots of unique flavors of bourbons, whiskeys, gins and liqueurs. Some very interesting such as venison flavored whiskey, beaver (gland) infused bourbon and smoked trout flavored brandy as well as others I would consider more tasty! We purchased the Tamworth Garden fig cordial. The bar hosts were very helpful explaining the menu and the gift shop has some great items to purchase. Definitely worth a stop!

While out in our Jeep checking out the backroads of the Conway area, we came across Tamworth Distilling. We decided to stop in to check it out. We decided to share a flight, they have a lovely outdoor seating area by the Swift River...it was so peaceful and quiet. After the shared flight (you can build your own or choose from a few the staff have put together) we decided to try one of their cocktails. Everything was delicious. And the best part was our dogs could sit with us by the river. Definitely recommend stopping by and checking them out.

Staff was friendly. Place was spacious and lots of options for tasting or drinks. Limited food menu. Clean.my husband and I stopped to check it out as we had seen them at an expo last year. Definitely worth the trip. Will return.

A friend suggested we met up here while visiting the lakes region. Beautifil displays, facility and grounds. Pretentous staff. We notice they offered sandwiches and was treated rudely on ordering and the tasting process. We learned you buy lunch from cooler and take outside for tastings. Once by the river...short walk over grounds, our first server was attentive, answered our questions and made us feel comfortable. By the time we ended 2 others were there and could care less. When asked for our ticket/ check to take back up to store, again rudely told go up to store. As visitors one would except some common customer service. By the way, the boubon and whiskeys are for moonshine lovers. My friend said gin sampling was good. $4 single pours or $12/15 flights. Sitting by river was very nice. Only wish the whole experience matched it.

Was so disappointed as I had anticipated going for the last six months. My friend and I were the only ones there. No greeting - very unwelcoming. Not helpful unless asked. Very expensive and did not make prices clear. Paid 63.95 for 3 sample tastings and a bottle(750ml) Gin. Was too shocked to even realize the cost! Will not be going back.

We enjoyed visiting this friendly distillery and store. Had a flight of five of their spirits for $5. Enjoyed most and would have bought the vodka and blueberry cordial if we hadn't had to fly home and deal with the airline security restrictions.

Who knew in the heart of the White Mountains that you could spend a lovely afternoon tasting unusual spirits made right there with local ingredients. The people behind the distillery are not novices. They win national awards and are distilling some amazing spirits. My favorite is the apiary gin with a touch of local honey. For $10, you can enjoy a flight and learn about the ingredients in each one. Well worth a trip.

While touring the museum across the street we spotted this award winning distillery and stopped in for a tasting. It's a well set up and attractive store with a viewing window to the process. Their bottles aren't cheap, but quite worth the money. Bring home a loaf their bread while you're at it!

Besides liquors distilled on the premises, the building houses the distillery, which you can view through glass walls; a gift shop with all things beverage related; and a "bar" that includes, for $8, a choice of five 1/2 ounce mini goblets representing a sampling of their offerings, including, but not limited to, flavored gins, vodkas, ryes, and cordials. The barista was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Quite an educational experience for us neophytes.
