Romantic Christmas Walking Tour

Fantastic night walking to beautifully decorated homes. Lines were long to go through houses. Seeing them from outside just as good .

We took the trolley tour and the tour of the house. It was so interesting and the tour guide for the house was just lovely and so knowledgeable. If you like Victorian era history it is a must see and do. Highly recommended.

We had the Tea Luncheon and it was very good. Their scones were delicious and the sandwiches were also very good. The wait staff was very good as well. It is an interesting place but the Market Cafe there is not actually inside the house. There was a separate tour of the house that was about $10, but we did... More

We were told it was a self-guided tour but it was neither that nor a guided tour. We were rushed through each room of "theatrical" hosts but didn't actually learn anything about the house. We didn't get enough time to examine the furnishings or really take in the spooky feel. Entire tour was 15 minutes top. Neat old house so... More

There are not a lot of rooms to see, such as at Winterthur, but the history of the Physicks and their accomplishments are rather interesting. They also have a Model T pickup truck that runs just fine. Recommend purchasing your tour tickets in advance, since the tours sell out.

You get this kind of great tour when its the local historical society that runs it. Lots of original furniture/furnishings, and all original woodwork by Furness the architect. Well preserved.

We find it more enjoyable when mansions are fully furnished and this one has some original pieces along with period pieces. We went in October so had to overlook the Halloween decor throughout the house, but even that looked like it would be fun to tour at night. Only complaint would be our tour felt rushed and had a lot... More

This home is excellently preserved. The guide from the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities was extremely knowledgable about the house, the locale and the period, and was able to explain it so all could understand! You are able to visit about 12-15 rooms that are period furnished, so it really feels like a living museum.
