I wonder how many people in New Jersey know about this wonderful scenic look out...this is my favorite place for the view. My husband and I visited here in the Fall in 2015 and then at the end of September in 2016. This would be a great place to have some professional photos taken for graduation or weddings. There are... I’ve been visiting Washington Rock for 50 years and the views are still wonderful especially when you imagine what George Washington witnessed at this spot. Other than the lookout spot, some picnic tables and a short hiking trail there isn’t much there. You can spend 20 minutes to an hour there. The area needs to be cleaned up; there was... More

George Washington use this look out to watch the British come into the country, hence the name Washington Rock. The views here are spectacular. You can see the NYC skyline, Staten island and parts of South Jersey.

This is a simple place with a nice view for a quick picnic, really not much more. I'm echoing some other reviews, I just wish there had been something more for the ride. Not worth a special trip.

This place has a good view of NJ. You can spend some quite time here. On our way back we noticed deer running on the road. So be careful while driving.

This is a fairly tiny park that sits atop the ridge of First Watchung Mountain. There is not much to do here except enjoy the view and perhaps eat a picnic lunch. I've done both many times. The view is lovely - across NJ's very suburban plain to the east, with the lights and buildings of Manhatten visible to the... More

This park has nothing much to offer history wise, but it's a nice little place to visit and have lunch or whatever. Nice view of Manhattan, and a couple of picnic tables, but there's nothing else here except a plaque and an outline of a proposed fort. I still come here from time to time, though, just to relax...since there's... More

Nice place to see NYc from afar, picnic tables, can enjoy lunch. Feels like you are further away from the busy suburbs than you actually are

You wouldnt think you could see views like this in New Jersey. Beautiful views, with some real historic significance. There is no reason to make a special, out of your way trip here. But if you are nearby - any time of year - stop and see the view.
