About
*Hours subject to change* Competitive axe throwing is a well known Canadian past time that's becoming increasingly popular in the United States. Simply put, it's like playing a game of darts, except with axes! At Bury The Hatchet you'll experience the thrill of launching an axe at a wooden target in a safe and fun environment. You and your best mates will spend two hours becoming intimate with a 1.5lb piece of whirling wood and metal as you learn, practice, and then finally square off toe-to-toe in a group tournament.
Duration: 2-3 hours

Went for the first time as part of a larger event my wife and I were invited to. We had a great time. The Axe Master encourages people to mix and play various games which helped breaking the ice, meeting new people, and building new friendships. would highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I went to a street fair in Greenpoint Brooklyn and walked past the BURY THE HATCHET at 25 Noble St. After the fair I made a beeline right to BTH, there was no waiting and Matthew the attendant was so cool! He answered all my questions and reassured my gf that it was absolutely safe. We purchased a session and had such a blast, my gf quickly got the hang of it and kicked my ass. She was hitting Bullseye’s and out scored me on the balloon targets. You have to try it at least one time, you’re gonna get hooked. Next time we go we’re bringing some friends and make a day out of it!

It was a fantastic time. None of us had ever been-but wanted to for quite a while. Even though the guy that was running it was short staffed, he still had a very pleasant, professional attitude, was very helpful and created a wonderful experience for us all.

A group of friends and I went to Bury the Hatchet for my birthday in November and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. We were walked through all of the safety protocols and shown exactly how to throw by a wonderful staff member, I’d give him a shout out but unfortunately I don’t remember his name- and for that I apologize! He explained how to keep score in the tablet as well and was available if we needed anything at all. The variety of axes was a welcome surprise, I thought we’d all be using the same size, but I was pleasantly surprised that there were many options. The environment was great as well. Music in the background, other groups having a great time and even the staff seemed to enjoy their evening. At the end of our time, the wonderful staff member (I really am sorry, you deserve better than me forgetting your name) offered to take birthday pictures for us and even gave us props. He was a wonderful young man and I hope someone can reach out to me and we can figure out by description who he is, he deserves the credit for the overall success of our evening.

I had never thrown a hatchet before and I was expecting to have fun but we had a freakin BLAST!!!! The experience was so much more than I expected! We had a group of 9 and only two people had done it before. Tiana was a wonderful leader and taught us how to throw the axe properly and skillfully. She was such a great teacher that people were getting the hang of it only after a few throws and hitting the bullseye! She became like just another friend in the group, love her!

We split into teams and played blackjack and battleship. Playing games made it more challenging and really got our competitive spirit going! All in all, I would highly recommend axe throwing at this spot and hopefully, you get Tiana as your instructor!

Steve introduced us to this very interesting and fun time. His instructions and main point of safety while throwing hatchet and tomahawks made the hour pass fast. Will have to return I hope.A thank you to Steve.

First time axe throwing and it was definitely a fun experience however, the staff can use an upgrade. The girl who went over the throwing techniques with us was great and very helpful. The guy at the first desk was very impersonal and borderline rude. We had called in on a Saturday afternoon looking to possibly make an appointment for the "night owl" special that night. They said it was available so we told them we'd call back shortly to confirm the time (we needed to make sure the time worked with the other couple joining us) and they said that was totally fine. We attempted to call them back about 5-6 times over the course of about 4 hours and left them 2 messages. No one ever picked up the phone or returned our messages. We decided to go anyway since it's local. The place was open with people at booths playing, so we were super confused. When we talked to the guy at the front desk and told him we tried calling and leaving messages but didn't get a call back, his actual response was "Well if no one answers the phone, you probably shouldn't come." ... I wish I was kidding. I'm in customer service and this is not something you say to a customer ready and willing to pay you for an hour of game play. Also, there was a group of about 15 people who were either employees and/or friends of employees taking up about 5 booths. We waited about 45 minutes for a booth to open up, all the while these people (who I'm sure didn't dish out an ounce of cash) were taking up available booths during working hours. Very unprofessional and I'm sure whoever the owner/manager is wouldn't appreciate them nearly turning down potential PAYING customers so they and their friends can have some joy time while the place is still open to the public.

I've been to three axe throwing places and Bury the Hatchet in Lawrenceville far exceeds all the others. The equipment is well maintained, the staff greets you and gets you set up and some quick instructions if you need it. And what stands apart from others, is that the team members stop by and offer some additional tips and game variations to make it fun and challenging.

Riley and Steve were very attentive and helped our large group of 20+ successfully enjoy the outing. I challenged Riley to a 1v1 axe throw off and almost pulled out the W.. I'll be practicing for our rematch!!

It was my first time and I was super nervous. PJ, our axe master, made me feel comfortable with the axe and throwing. He continued to give me pointers when my throw was off. He really knew his stuff. He also made a friendly competition happen between us and the people next to us and kept score for us. Overall I had a great experience.
