Stunning Birds
Feb. 2021 • Couples
Spent several hours in this amazing refuge. We were nicely helped by the volunteers selling the passes. We purchased a few gift items.
We opted for the drive for bird watching and were not disappointed. We spent several hours as every few feet we were greeted by another species, or huge flock of snow geese. We watched fearless gulls fish for clams and then fly up and drop them to the ground in front of our car the entire drive. Herons, many species of ducks, a family of eagles a falcon and 2 Northern Harrier sightings. Simply amazing. Will def. be back in the spring with a better pair of binoculars and a telephoto lens. Also, will hike the trails. Thrilled to have this in NJ. Hope they can reopen the entire facility soon.

Nature at it's finest

Just an amazing place to see wildlife and birds galore. Just be aware that parking is limited if want to walk the trails, but if you don't want to walk and can drive the loop which is a plus.

Absolutely beautiful this time of the year.
May 2020
We enjoyed this destination numerous times for very pleasant, easy hiking in a beautiful scenery of the lush forest and wetlands. Our favorite is singing birds trail which at the end of May is at its best.
Well marked attractive trails are known for the variety of flora. Today we have seen more lady slippers than in our entire lifetime.
For visitors not interested in hiking or biking there is an 8 mile drive, unique in its nature, which could be called bird watchers paradise.. We enjoyed it today as well. It takes about 40 minutes at a very slow leisurely pace. In the background there is a silouette of Atlantic City.
We are already planning to come back.
Usual donation is $4.

Always something special to see, every time of year
Nov. 2019
Have visited Forsythe a half dozen times and it's always an enjoyable visit... for me, because of the variety of wildlife that is viewable year-round. The osprey nests in spring thru fledging are always special; migrating birds during the fall. There's just a constant presence of wildfowl/birds thru the year. The eight mile drive is great, as is walking the many trails.

2nd visit and a must the next time we return to Galloway
Dec. 2019
We had been before and enjoyed the paths. Today, Dec. 6th it was windy and chilly and we decided to just do the drive.
We stopped at the Visitors Center and picked up a map. They have a small gift shop
and found some nice items. We took the 8 mile trip and stopped to see many egrets,
geese, osprey, and black ducks. It is strange to see this wonderful marshland and look across
and you can see Atlantic City. It is a very peaceful area and urge you to take your time.

Next time we will come a little earlier in the year. It must be beautiful in the fall.

Highly recommend coming. In the visitor center it stated they had a bird tour at 8:00AM.

Beautiful Park

Visited while staying at the Marriott. Very peaceful place to hike and explore. We also took the car trail through the park. Very good for those who may not be able to walk the distance.

Nature at it's finest
Aug. 2019
We were in the area and saw the sign, and had to try it. Our Son lives in the area and goes all the time, so we had to try it. They have a little stand where they have envelopes to pay a fee. It's $4, and worth it if you love nature. There is a route you take which is a couple miles long. There were nests for birds and other wildlife around. You can also walk, but when we went in August there were too many bugs flying around and we had to keep our windows closed. Glad we didn't walk. Bring binoculars, which we didn't have with us. Only come here if you like the peace and quiet of just seeing nature. The fee helps keep this place from ever changing. Our Son gets the yearly membership, he loves it.
