This is a top notch venue to see any/all productions. They always do a stellar job and the convenience of seeing Broadway productions without the inconvenience of getting into NYC is a plu. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the area to go before or after a show. The theater is located in a charming area of... More

We visit Princeton each year on Christmas Eve to see the Christmas Carole performed at MC Carter Theater with our family of adults. This year the production was changed from what I would call traditional theater to one that had the actors mingling with the theater goers before the production and during the show as they appeared among the ticket... Came to see A Christmas Carol on 12/17, and was blown away! My first time in the theater, I did not know what to expect. The show went on perfectly and actually left me wanting more. I'm personally not a big live performance person, but after one like that, I'll have to visit again.

This play is a must see. The characters are so talented and perform with the upmost perfection. The graphics to the play keep you upbeat and on the edge. The celebration seen with all the talent on the stage and the music got me into the Christmas spirit. The facility itself is very organized and the staff is very professional.... More

Having attended numerous performances of Dicken's Christmas Carol, I can honestly say this "updated" version left me somewhat disappointed. The stage was rather plain, Jacob Marley mistakenly repeated the same lines, and the characters imbedded in the audience took away from the feeling of immersion in the 2015 performance. Seeing the ghost of Christmas future surrounded by the audience diminished... More

We can to the McCarter Theater for the first time on Black Friday to see the Nutcracker to begin our month long Christmas festivities as a family. The theater itself was lovely, exactly what you would expect, the exterior of the theater beautifully fit in with the Princeton environment. The interior of the theater was clean, and nice, a bit... I just love everything about this place. The crowd is always as distinguished as it can be and the theatre structure makes one feel so very warm and welcome. The in premise bar cum snack bar is a popular haunt, they will always have a special drink with some running event. The bartender is an enterprising smiling bloke too. The... More

I've been there many times for music performances, comedy, drama, dance---and I'm thrilled to find that the experience is as good as Broadway. Their sets are wonderful. And the directing and acting are spot-on. Also love the Beatles tribute bands, and hearing artists I've loved for decades.

Excellent Regional Theater located in heart of Princeton, NJ. Classic architecture and good seating and sound quality - with an old school charm and ambiance surrounding the space. McCarter features a wide variety of artists and performers through the year and tickets are reasonably priced. Street parking is sometimes difficult to find in and around the theater but underground theater... More

I live in the Princeton area and thrill in having McCarter near by. They have first rate productions in a great theater with none of the hassles of going to New York. And now across the street is the Dinky Bar to have drinks and dinner before and after. An overall great night.
