We visit here often. It is one of our favorite picnic places in the general area. Ringwood has several attractions, a pre revolutionary war manor (complete with a historic cemetery), a nice walk along a carriage road, a nice walk in the woods, two longer hikes (both excellent) and all sorts of excellent picnic areas, including many along the river.... I live 2 miles from the park and have hiked, jogged, biked, taken history tours, and ran my dog ragged there too many times to mention. Never get tired or bored of it. Beautiful scenery in all seasons. Never hassled and have snapped pics of bears, deer, turkeys, snakes, etc. Welcome respite from daily Manhattan trips!

The manor was really beautiful. Nicer the expected when I saw the outside of the home. The area around is breathtaking! Stunning grounds. A very calm place to spend a nice day

Visited the park for my first hike which began and end near the manor. The trails we took were considered moderate, which weren't as taxing as I would have expected. There weren't a lot of bugs, but that may have been due to the time of year we visited. Will definitely visit again. Mostly like on the mountain biking trails.

We enjoyed a wonderful picnic overlooking the stream…hidden in the woods. (No liquor allowed although we had wine and did not know!) Charming ambiance. Afterwards, we took a tour of the Cooper Hewitt mansion on the grounds of the park... a beautiful estate with original furnishings. Tour lasts 1 1/2hrs and is very reasonable and enjoyable. Walking through the gardens... More

Big facility with three different sections. You pay an admission fee to get in $5 My wife and I hiked the extreme trail. Actually by mistake. Not very well marked and the maps are useless. Went by the Botanical gardens area. parked in lot C and off to the trail. No signage and followed the red little rectangle sighs (also... More

A great day trip with the family. Lots of picnic tables and grills by the lake. $5 / car for NJ residents. Don't feel like cooking, they have a really good indoor concession stand. Bring a book and let the kids play. Paddleboats, canoes available. Being garbage bags and be prepared to carry your garbage out of the park. New... More
